DREAMLAND SCHOOL, under the management of
Dreamland Education Society (Registered under W.B. Societies Registration Act,
1961.), and DREAMLAND CHILDREN'S CORNER, established in 1973, are having three
school premises - the High School building at 98, T.N.Mukherjee Road, Makhla,
Hooghly, the Middle School Building at Benepukur Dhar, Makhla, and the Examination
Hall with Auditorium at Raghunathpur, all near to the Uttarpara Railway Station.
DREAMLAND CHILDREN'S CORNER (Nursery to Std.4) & DREAMLAND SCHOOL (Classes-
5 to 12) are one of the leading co-educational private schools in West Bengal,
India. The School was established on 15th January, 1973 by Mr. Biswanath Chatterjee
and Mrs. Rina Chatterjee who dreamt of an institution that could combine the
concept of secularism and motivation to excel and become independent in all
respects. The School got affiliation in 1987 from the Council for the Indian
School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, and since then the history of the
school has been that of only success and achievement. In 1999 the School was
given affiliation for I.S.C. (Classes- XI & XII) by the C.I.S.C.E., New Delhi,
as a mark of appreciation to the overall activities and achievements of the
School since its inception.
The School is imparting modern day quality
education from Nursery to Class - 12. Mr.Indranil Chatterjee (M.A. (ENGLISH),
LL.B, B.Ed.) is now the Principal of the School. The School Emblem, picturing
Mother Mary holding Little Jesus in hand, symbolizes the noble mission of the
School: "TO IMPART EDUCATION WITH LOVE AND CARE."
The students of the School have been achieving
excellent results at the I.C.S.E. (Class-10) and I.S.C. (Class-12) levels as
a result of the efforts put in by the highly qualified teaching staff. The School
has all the three streams- Science, Commerce & Humanities at the I.S.C.(Class-
XII) level. The teaching system of the school is highly interactive and student
centered.
Events such as Freedom Festival, Teacher's
Day, Children's Day, Christmas-Eve Celebration Rabindra Jayanti Celebration,
Annual Games & Sports etc. are the hallmarks of the School. These provide the
students with ample opportunities to display their talents in music, dance and
drama and sports. As a part of serving the community, the school organizes Blood
Donation Camp, Distribution of Clothes to the poor, Distribution of Winter Blankets
to the poor etc. Excursions, picnic, etc. are organized from time to time under
the guidance of the teachers.
The school is recognized by the Education
Department of the Government of West Bengal and affiliated to the Council for
